Summer Reading Update 2

Time to check out my summer reading goals.  I must first admit I started out with 14 books on my Kindle to read.  I promised I would not buy anymore until I did.  That was before I discovered BookBub. Curse you! I now have another 15 books. Hmmmm. I think I have a problem. Granted most of the new additions or on the craft of writing or publishing, but not all of them. That dosen’t even include my side table that is sagging from my recent trip to the library. So happy I found the newest Mary Higgins Clark.  I almost yanked it out of the hands of an elderly lady.Thankfully, there were two copies.  I need help.

  • Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death by James Runcie  –  Didn’t finish, just couldn’t get into it.
  • Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews – Loved it to pieces. I wish Quixie was a real drink.
  • Bound by Kate Sparkes-
  • Torn by Kate Sparkes-
  • Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin-
  • The Giver by Lois Lowry-  Really good book, don’t know why it took so long to finally read it.
  • The Indie Author Pack: Write Publish Repeat by Sean Platt & Johnny B. Truant–    Great book, very helpful.  Makes me want to self-publish something today.                                                                                                           Let’s Get Digital by David Gaughran, How to Market a Book by Joanna Penn-
  • Lowcountry Boneyard by Susan M. Boyer- Loved it. Very funny.  Makes me want to visit Charleston.
  • Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie
  • A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony- Book 1 in the Xanth.
  • To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee-
  • Too Close to Home by Lynette Eason-
  • Trouble in Mudbug by Jana Deleon- Book 1 in Ghost-in-law Mystery Series.
  • Unenchanted by Chanda Hahn- Book 1 in an Unfortunate Fairy Tale Series. I had a hard time getting into this one and didn’t finish it.

On other fronts, I signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo. I obviously don’t have enough to do. I’m not writing anything new, but I am editing what I wrote last November for NaNo.

  1. Your reading is definitely going better than mine. And, I feel the pain of the huge book piles. My husband kind of gives me a look whenever I mention new books.

BTW- I wanted to share that I found an omnibus version of the Christopher Golden X-MEN trilogy (MUTANT EMPIRE). So, should you go looking for it, that might be the best form to find it in. 🙂

    • I have time to read, just not write! I haven’t told my hubby about the new books. It’s a secret! Thanks for the info on the X-Men Trilogy. I’ve looked for it before and couldn’t find it. I’ll look again. I think Amazon has my house on a weekly drop off schedule at this point. Good Luck on your reading and writing.
