I’m writing this in advance. I’m actually writing several post to be published later. This past week I started a new job. I’ll be in training for two weeks. With school still new we are once again shuffling our schedules to include my new job, volleyball practice/games, and band.
A project I had hoped to ready at the end of July has been pushed back to First week in September. Hmmmm. I made the decision early on, that my family would come before writing. I think that’s a necessity. So I steal time away from other areas, like housework, to write and take care of things writer related. After I have settled into the new job, I should have more free time to write. So give me a few weeks to iron it all out.
What is my new job?
Are you ready? Crossing Guard. Yes, that’s right. I will be working at a school helping the little ones across the road. No more will I be standing on my feet for 7 hours doing retail. I will have several hours everyday free without my kids or husband interfering with writing and I will have weekends off!
How does your next few weeks look?

Like you, family comes first for me too. If it wasn’t, summer would have been more productive. But, we don’t have forever to be a family and writing is a pursuit that can keep going. I think there was an senior citizen romance author who dictated to her daughter or something in the news way a few years back? Writing definitely has lots of time.
Congrats on the new job! It sounds like you found something that will give home and writing a better balance. I hope you enjoy it.
When you go to release, let me know if there’s anything I can do!

Juggling both is hard, but I think the future rewards (family and writing both) will be worth it. The kids will only need/want me for so long before they invade the rest of the world. Someone has to teach them how to me a mastermind! I’m writing a post now on the release. Thanks.
