Feeling Beachie…

I looked it up beachie is actually a word.

I took most of the weekend off, which is why I had no Row80 update on Sunday. My kids were at a weekend long lock-in at church. It wasn’t really a lock-in, but you get the idea. I was without children. Happy dance! We skipped Valentine’s day this year because of family obligations. So this was the perfect time to spent time with my honey.

We drove out to Gulf Shores after lunch ate ice cream (before dinner), walked on the beach, and had an amazing dinner by the water. Hmmmm….

There is something restorative about the beach. I don’t know if it’s the water or the breeze, but I feel so much better after spending a little time on the shore. In case you were thinking it was warm, this is a picture of my sweetie. The sun was warm, but the wind was freezing.

Participate in the weekly Health/Fitness Challenge at church.  Goal this week attend two workout classes and one day on treadmill.  Total failure. I totally need to stop eating so much junk food.

–Read 4 books a month, roughly 1 book a week.  I finished Charming last night and loved it. I have to read the next one in the series. I also read Catwings.
-Edit book 2 in my mystery seriesNada! I’m tossing this goal for now.
-Work on self-publishing Book 1. This is my critique project. I have submitted the first 5 chapters.
Institute Meatless Monday.  Failure for the most part.
-Keep up with the local Critique Group.  I’ve read the first piece and have to read one each day until Saturday. I also have to review and polish the chapters I am giving the group. All of this has to be complete by Sunday.
-At some point I need to write a story I’ve plotted.  Goal this week is: 6,000 words. I missed my goal last week by 400 words or so and I am off this week by 250 words. That’s Ok. I’m writing everyday, except Sunday. I want to have the first draft down by the end of this round. I would like the length to by 25,000 words. I currently have 19,457. So finishing in that time is doable. I need to plot out the ending a little more, but I’m close.

Edit/publish Mystic Brew.   Done!

This week was a success. I’m writing everyday and I went to the beach 🙂 Even better, I found a new series I want to read. I’m not very good with juggling more than one project at a time. I have a short that needs my final edits before I send it to the editor, but I can’t do that and write. I don’t know, it’s just me. Now, I just need to train my girls to stop throwing clean clothes on the floor with dirty clothes. I can’t even count the number of loads of laundry I have washed and folded this week.

How did your week go?
