It’s time for my May #TBR list.
I went a little nuts with books. I hit a sale at the bookstore and kindle. I have 174 books on my kindle. At this point I’m curious to know how many it can hold.
Borrowed:
- The Cat Sitter’s Pajamas- A Dixie Hemingway Mystery by Blaize Clement. I’m 1/4 of the way through. It’s my night time book. I love the cover.
- Batman vs. Superman the greatest battles. This is a graphic novel. I assume it is a movie tie-in.
- Savvy by Ingrid Law. I’ve checked this out three times, I need to read it.
Mine:
- Doppelgangster- An Esther Diamond novel by Laura Resnick. I love this series. It has everything- fantasy, mystery, paranormal, and gangsters.
- Wicked Mobile by Brendan Kirby. I’ve heard mixed things about this book. It’s about my city’s “wicked” past.
- Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews. One of my favorite writers of all time.
Kindle:
- Evil Genius- The family Genius Mystery Series by Patricia Rice
- Out of Time- Book 1 in the Out of Time Series by Monique Martin
- Mercy’s Prince – He Who Finds Mercy Book 1 by Kay Huth Jones
That should keep me busy.
What book do you want to read this month?
-CK
I bought “The Color Purple” about two months ago and have yet to start reading it. I wanted to read it because I hadn’t before, but there were two other books I felt demanded my attention more. One was Ethan Hawke’s “The Hottest State.” The other was a short story anthology by Leverett Butts. The title escapes me at the moment. I think once I get through the anthology, I’ll start “The Color Purple.”

I read “The Color Purple” either in high school or college. I loved it. Alice Walker is an amazing writer she lead me to read Zora Neale Hurston. But unlike the rest of the world, I’m not a huge fan or “Their eyes were watching God”. I prefer “Dust Tracks on the Road.” Let me know how you like it when you finish it. I may need to read it again, it’s been a long time.
