This post must be written in 10 minutes. I am on the clock. This weekend is the huge end of season city wide swim meet. My daughter calls it her Olympics 🙂 We have practice everyday along with a pep session. So here I go.
Row80
Red highlights were a total failure.
Blue highlights with constant progress strike-through means completed.
Pink highlights are goals I’m dropping. Really, no surprise there. I hate them.
Green highlights new goals added.
- Promotion.
I haven’t sent anything new out. Goal- 3 emails a week. Read 4 books a month.
I’ve increased the number of books I wish to read this year from 52 to 60.- Write two posts a week, not related to Row80. Done!
Stay on top of Critique group.Completed for now.- Edit/revise “Stella” for possible submission to a contest.
Not yet. Edit/revise “Mermaid”
Done! I zipped it off to the anthology judges.Edit/revise “Monster”. Done zipped it off as well.- Sort through critique remarks on Dead in the Water. I plan on starting this week. Goal: 5,000 edited words a week.
Teach my girls how to make a dress- Teach them to properly wash clothes
Nothing new here to report. I have a mountain of clothes that need to be washed! - Teach them how to make one meal from start to finish without help. Daughter #2 made stuffed pasta shells in the new oven! She was the first to drop cheese on the oven bottom which quickly melted.
- Buy school supplies and organize all the school stuff. Still working on this. Still need a blazer.
- Draw the current kitchen footprint. Now I need to sort through the available cabinets to see what will fit.
- Contact a body at the hardware store to discuss cabinet options and prices. We won’t be using them, but a consult sounds like a good idea.
Empty cabinet under stove for stove installation.- Make a wishlist for the kitchen. Working on it. I have a stack of magazine’s I’m going over trying to decide what we need versus what just looks cool.
- Organize my writer’s calendar and mark upcoming due dates and expectations.
- Plot out a story that popped in my head. Goal – have a full plot before the end of this round. This may be my writing project for NaNo. I’m not sure how long it will be.
- Create a list of tweets for each story I have out to make promotion easier! – A list of 10 tweets per story by end of round.
There we go, added a few to take the place of those I have completed.
How was your weekend?

Looks like you made some good progress this week.

Quite the post for ten minutes–hope your “Olympic meet” went well too.
Teaching the kidle to cook…. I cringe at the very thought (I already hate cooking, and then I hate the thought of showing my fudgy way of cooking to him…) I think that’s one I will be leaving to my husband.
And thanks for the reminder I need to plot and plan things for the new kitchen we’re building (not so much because I want to cook, but the house sort of demands we move it space-wise closer to the diningroom). Weeding out the “wants” (or harder still these days “that’s cool–maybe!”s) from the “needs”… I don’t envy you at all.

I love to cook – most of the time. Teaching them to cook isn’t always easy. We have to redo the kitchen, the cabinets are crumbling they are so old.

Ah! Yeah… sounds like time for a remodel then. Hope you create something that you’ll enjoy spending time in for years.

I like your list-o-tweets idea. I’m always hesitant to promo, which is silly as long as it’s not overdone. Having something prewritten might ease the pain.

That’s my thought as well.

Good work on your progress. I started a new story this week. However, I have this nagging feeling to start something else. I’m not sure what it means. I have a lot of edits and critiques to sift through. I may have to put the new story on hold for the time being. I don’t know if I want to submit it to a contest or publish them on my blog. I guess the muse will let me know what to do.

I find it easier to just write without worrying about it’s future home. Of course then you run the risk of it being homeless…

Good luck to your daughter in her swim meet!
Lots of progress this week. Congrats! The kitchen remodel sounds like fun. Ours need a little updating–a new sink and the counter tops need to be refinished because they’re stained. Who knows when that will happen, though. We need new windows more than we need a new sink at the moment. I highly recommend Pinterest for remodeling and decorating ideas, although it’s easy to get sucked in. You sort of tumble down the rabbit hole and next thing you know you’ve been pinning for a hour.
My weekend was good–a little lazy, actually. I decided not to paint the kitchen this weekend like I’d planned. Hubby and I watched TV, played Frisbee, took a couple long strolls in the nearby park and nature trails. A good summer weekend.

You did this in 10 minutes!?! Oh. My. Word! I can barely get a post out in 30! This should go on my goals list.
So much blue! You are rocking the round and it’s just one month in!

Don’t you love technology! The post may have taken a little over 10 minutes. Most was just cut/paste.

Hmmm…. I hit post on a comment, but I do not see it. If it doesn’t turn up in your moderate pile, let me know and I shall re-comment. 🙂
