Top 5 Tuesday- Graphic Novels

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Bionic Book Worm. Click here for June topics.

This week is a freebie. I chose graphic novels because summer is a perfect time to read books with pictures. Especially if you are on vacation 😉 My list includes a mix of new favorites with classic reads.

  1. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Vol:1 BFF by Amy Reeder and Brandon Montclare

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Vol. 1: BFFI recently read this graphic novel and loved it. It was cute and quirky. The main character is this super smart girl (moon girl) who befriends a dinosaur while they try to defeat prehistoric men and solve the inhuman gene issue.  It’s awesome.

2.  Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir by Stan Lee

Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous MemoirHow does a comic book legend like Stan Lee write his autobiography? In comic book form, of course. And it is incredible.

3. Gen 13 by Jim Lee

Gen 13I had to go way back in the time machine for this one. I originally read it in college as a mini-series. Loved the story and the illustrations.

4. Wandering Island by Kenji Tsuruta

Wandering IslandMy first Japanese graphic novel. I’ve only read the first installment.  Definitely worth the read.

5. Generation x: classic Vol 1 by Scott Lobdell

Generation X Classic, Vol. 1A true classic. Next to the traditional X-men (if there is such a thing) this group of teen heroes is my favorite. I loved the series when it came out in the 90s and it’s still great. Just ask my kids.

What’s your favorite graphic novel?
