This week is a freebie. I chose graphic novels because summer is a perfect time to read books with pictures. Especially if you are on vacation 😉 My list includes a mix of new favorites with classic reads.
- Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Vol:1 BFF by Amy Reeder and Brandon Montclare
I recently read this graphic novel and loved it. It was cute and quirky. The main character is this super smart girl (moon girl) who befriends a dinosaur while they try to defeat prehistoric men and solve the inhuman gene issue. It’s awesome.
2. Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir by Stan Lee
How does a comic book legend like Stan Lee write his autobiography? In comic book form, of course. And it is incredible.
3. Gen 13 by Jim Lee
I had to go way back in the time machine for this one. I originally read it in college as a mini-series. Loved the story and the illustrations.
4. Wandering Island by Kenji Tsuruta
My first Japanese graphic novel. I’ve only read the first installment. Definitely worth the read.
5. Generation x: classic Vol 1 by Scott Lobdell
A true classic. Next to the traditional X-men (if there is such a thing) this group of teen heroes is my favorite. I loved the series when it came out in the 90s and it’s still great. Just ask my kids.
What’s your favorite graphic novel?
