October TBR

October Reading List

The post Friday Finds (Oct. 2) appeared first on A Daily Rhythm. Friday Finds is a weekly meme where you post books you found this week and added to your TBR list. Anyone can join the fun. Just hop on over to A Daily Rhythm, leave a link or name the books you’ve added to your TBR list. Check out what the others are reading as well.

My Kindle has gotten out of hand. I now have 52 titles on my device, I won’t admit to what’s on the cloud. To make matters worse, I just discovered an online discount book store. Like I need more temptation.
This is my TBR list for the month of October. Half are from my Kindle and the others are books borrowed from my second home, the Library.  I’m expanding Friday Finds to my October reading list.

Gator Bait by Jana Deleon. This is book 5 in the Miss Fortune Mystery Series. I love this series.
Nun Too Soon by Alice Loweecey. This is book 1 in a new series for me.
Code Blue by local author Joyce Scarbrough This is actually a short story.
Nikolas and Company Book 1 by Kevin McGill The whole premise of this book made me buy it. Mermen on the moon!

Once Upon a Crime: A Brothers Grimm Mystery by P.J. Brackston Another new series for me. I picked it up because the cover is awesome!
Chocolat by Joanne Harris I checked it out because this is one of my favorite movies of all time! I’ve heard her books tend to be a bit melancholy. I just hope it’s as good or better than the movie.
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson This one looks a bit creepy. I know nothing about it, other than the cover. Should be perfect for October.
Disappearing Nightly by Laura Resnick This is book 1 in the Esther Diamond Series. It took a while to find too. I actually had to buy this one online. I just read my first Diamond book, I think it was book 5, and I loved it. I want to read the rest of the series in order. I have a feeling it will be a bit like an Easter egg hunt to collect them all.

There’s my list. I think I can read 8 books in October. The problem will be not getting distracted by new books.

What’s on your TBR list?

I almost forgot. There’s still time to take the poll. What should the town be named in my WIP?

Revisions with YouTube

I am in the process of revising/editing my WIP. I could say for the last time, but let’s be real. It’s never the last time. Recently, I’ve discovered I love YouTube. There may be nothing on network TV, but there’s always something on YouTube. This week I’ve been checking out videos on Scrivener, indie publishing, and writing in general. I found this one and thought I would share.  Katytastic has some hints about that first read through and how to use the printed version as you edit/revise. Some of these I already do, others I will try for the next manuscript.

I still have a poll going on, vote for the name of the town in my WIP. If you haven’t voted, please do.  Who doesn’t want to name a town?

Now, tune in tomorrow for my cover reveal. You don’t want to miss that!
