WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.  Hop on over there to see what others are reading. The meme is simple. Answer the following questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s see what’s on my list.

What are you currently reading?

I’m reading two books one a paperback the other on Kindle. Usually, I read the paperback at night and the Kindle during the day. I’m weird that way.

SapphSapphire Blue (Precious Stone Trilogy, #2)ire Blue by Kerstin Gier book 2 in The Ruby Red Trilogy. YA Fantasy

I loved book 1, but I’m not enjoying this one as much. I’m lukewarm about it. I like it enough to finish the book. I can’t pinpoint the problem, I think it’s personal taste.

I am also reading:  Never Buried by Edie Claire.

Never Buried (Leigh Koslow Mystery #1)

This is my first time to read a book by Claire. I’m enjoying it. I like the plot and the characters. It’s a cozy mystery. I’m over halfway through and I can’t figure out who the bad guy is. I like that! Bonus points for the black cat. I love black cats.

What did you recently finish reading?

The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd  The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd- I loved this book, it makes me want to read more of her books. I thought her writing was beautiful, very descriptive and Southern. The Goodreads reviews were not great, I’m glad I didn’t read them until I finished the book.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have two books on my TBR ( actually I have a bag full but I’ll settle on two). Again one on Kindle and the other paperback.

The Heart Mender: A Story o... The Heart Mender- A Story of Second Chances by Andy Andrews. I’ve never read a book by Andrews. My kids have he’s required reading at school. He’s also a local Alabama author. This book was recommended by a friend. I don’t usually do blurbs but I will for this one. Thank you Goodreads:

Saddened and unable to abandon her resentment toward the Nazi war machine that took her husband’s life, the young and attractive Helen Mason is living a bitter, lonely existence. Betrayed and left for dead, German U-boat officer Lt. Josef Landermann washes ashore in a sleepy town along the northern gulf coast, looking to Helen for survival.

The Heart Mender is a story of life, loss, and reconciliation, reminding us of the power of forgiveness and the universal healing experience of letting go.

The other book:

Alas, She Drowned (Stratford Upon Avondale Mystery, #1)  Alas, She Drowned by Monica Knightley. A cozy mystery that will fill the (A) in my Goodreads Summer Challenge. I’m spelling out: Ocean Waves.  Here is the Blurb thanks to Goodreads:

When ex-novice nun, turned steamy romance writer, Maggie O’Flynn moves to the charming village of Stratford Upon Avondale to open a tea room she expects plenty of murders, betrayal, and duplicity. On the stages of the town’s renowned Shakespeare Festival. But when a theater critic is found murdered on the town’s riverbank and the prime suspect turns out to be the sexy bookshop owner Maggie has had her eye on, she takes matters into her own hands. Will she be able to dig through the layers of betrayal and duplicity to find the true murderer before that handsome bookseller, Nate Larimer, finds himself behind bars? With the help of her loud, brash, spitfire of a friend, Gina Mattucci, Maggie plans to do just that.

There we go. I hope to finish at least one book by Sunday.
