February TBR

What ya reading?

What ya reading?

It’s February. My favorite month. Why? Easy, I was born in February during a monster snow storm. Okay, not a real monster sized storm, but monster sized for coastal Alabama. It shut the entire area down. The second reason is Valentine’s Day! A holiday created expressly to pass out chocolate, next to Halloween it’s my favorite candy holiday.

My reading goal this year is 52 books, or one book a week. I’ve read 6/52. Yes, I’m counting short stories in that number, but not comic books. 🙂

In January I read sci-fi, I bit out of the norm for me. My brain is still swimming in dark humor and nasty aliens. I feel I need something lighter this month. A few of the books I didn’t read in January will be moved to this month, but being a mood reader, you never know what I’ll actually get to. It’s also a short month, so I have a few short books. On with the list.

February TBR

  • The Crimson Claymore by Craig A. Price Jr.It’s a fantasy book complete with a map. I love maps!  This is a local author. I bought the book in December. I really want to read this, so I’m bringing it back.
  • Eats, Shoots, & Leaves by Lynne Truss. This is a nonfiction writing book. I’ve heard great things about it.
  • The Cat Who Came in off the Roof by Annie M. G. Schmidt, a children’s book
  • Fearsome Creatures of the Lumberwoods by Hal Johnson, another children’s book. This one has glow in the dark pages. Really! That’s the reason I checked it out. I’m reading in the dark.
  • The Night Gwen Stacy Died by Sarah Bruni. I know nothing about this book, other than the title. It’s not a graphic novel it’s an actual book. If you read comics, you should get the reference.
  • I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. Another book I pilfered from my daughter’s stack. She didn’t make it passed the second chapter. I saw the movie and thought it could be a good read. I’ve checked it out twice and still haven’t read it.

On my Kindle:

  • The Dragon’s Curse (The Dragon and the Scholar Book 1) by H.L. Burke. I love dragons.
  • Let’s Get Visible by David Gaughran- A how-to sell more books guide.
  • The Seer’s Choice by J. Kathleen Cheney. This is a short story set in the realm of the Golden City. I’ve read two of the three books. Love them!

That’s a bigger list than I thought. I better get reading.
