It’s a Ham Day!

It’s a Ham Day!

What? You don’t know what I’m talking about?  First, let me say my oldest is being baptized on Sunday. Yippee!  That is cause for a celebration.  Ham Day’s are days of celebration where a ham is usually served. Yes, I made up Ham Day. If you didn’t know, the South loves pig. Ham’s are the go to entree for large crowds. It’s easy and feeds a small army.

What’s your go to entree for a crowd?

“Young Girls run away from home. Young children stray from their parents and are never seen again.”  page 1, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

What are you reading?

Row80 and CampNaNoWriMo

I have accomplished nothing since Sunday.  Not a word has been written or edited.  I have done a little reading, but not in a new genre.  I have school starting in a week and I am trying to get the kids and house ready.  Amazing how everything changes for school.  Swim stuff is replaced by school stuff.  Areas of the house change in use, some must be reserved for backpacks and shoes…you get the idea.  So now with the end of NaNo I am at 23.490.  I’m hoping that be this time next week, even though it is the fist week of school, I will have more time to write/edit.

How are your goals?

Ok, this is not entirely a post about writing. Actually, it has nothing to do with writing.  I just needed to get this off of my chest.  It is HOT!  I am melting here in sunny Southern Alabama.  My sweet little black cat, cries when she has to go outside.  I’m not sure but I think the tires on my car are sticking to the pavement.  It is a mere 91*, I can’t tell you what the humidity is but I’m wearing a nice fuzzy, cloud sweater right now.  If you ever wondered why people in the South tend to talk “slow”, it’s because we are choking from the heat.  Sad part, I still have 2 – 3 months of this left, the hottest being August.  I think I might cry.  Oh crap!  My tears evaporated on the spot.

I’m going to play in the sprinklers.
